“Whatever you think you can do or believe you can do, begin it. Action has magic, grace and power in it.”
Johann Wolfgang von Goethe

The other day, a friend was telling me that when one does something worth noticing, people will help and rally in support, because they want to take pride in their friend’s accomplishment. Creating Cedric has been that for me. My friends are coming out of the woodwork. For so long, I’ve been nervous about how the book will be received– it’s easy to forget that it’s already been received in small doses, and embraced by the harshest critics among my peers.

After months of workshop, drafting, hundreds of mochas and lattes at over a dozen coffee shops, I’m ready for you to read, and see how my friends contributed in their special ways. From providing blurbs, helping me with design, inviting me to readings, making treats for the release (shh!), helping me with printing, reading the several versions of the books, and telling me to get rid of the epilogue… you don’t make something worth noticing until your friends get behind you.

I can\'t believe I won an award with the \"before\" artwork... yeesh.

Thus, the opening lines: “Magic is not hard, not-magic is hard” is how I feel about Cedric: it’s not hard to write this guy, it’s hard to not-write him.
